2001, with the support of AT&T, EASTBAY Learns, CSU-Hayward,
and local foundations, the Contra Costa Business/Education
Collaborative (CCBEC) began its work as the lead intermediary
between business and education in Contra Costa County.
CCBEC
consists of three countywide strategic partners: the
Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) which
serves 18 school districts; the Contra Costa Community
College District representing three campuses; and the
Contra Costa Economic Partnership, a coalition of business,
government, labor and education leaders dedicated to
creating and retaining quality jobs for Contra Costa
County.
Why
a Luncheon?
Since its inception, an over-arching goal of CCBEC's
was to recognize programs, organizations and individuals
that exemplify four critical characteristics to successful
and sustainable industry education collaboration including:
 |
A shared vision of
how the Contra Costa community should educate children
with clear, compelling and measurable goals. |
 |
Strong
leadership
at all levels in the community including industry,
government, labor, school boards of education, superintendents,
administrators, teachers and parents. |
 |
Data-driven
decision-making involving
curriculum, assessment, student performance and
real-world requirements. |
 |
High
quality professional development
of staff. |
CCBEC is proud to present the 2005 Contra Costa Awards
Recognition Luncheon to celebrate the success of industry
education collaboration in the past year.
Please
help us as we acknowledge and thank individual schools,
school districts, higher education institutions and
industry partners for their significant contributions
to sustained business/education collaboration in Contra
Costa County.
