may submit their project applications anytime between now and
February 1st. Please be reminded that you must obtain pre-approval
for certain experiments. See below. |

Deadline
for pre-approval and receipt of initial papers by the Scientific
Review Committee for projects involving invertebrate or vertebrate
animals, human subjects, recombinant DNA, tissue, pathogenic
agents, or controlled substances.
You
must submit research plans to the Contra Costa Science Fair
Scientific Review Committee before any research begins!
These
regulations apply even in the case where research involves
only surveys, questionnaires or observations. These papers
should be filed even though students may not yet know if they
are participating in the Contra Costa Science & Engineering
Fair.

to set up your science fair project at Heald Conference Center.
Set-up starts at 2 p.m. that day. |

Projects
will be judged on this day. You will need to be at the Science
Fair at your project from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on April
4. More detailed instructions will be sent to students and teachers
describing the judging process including an outline of the judging
morning roundrobbin, the student interview process; award considerations,
etc. |

5 |
The
award ceremony will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Award winners
will be asked to stand by their projects from 10:00 a.m. until
12:00 noon. Projects may be removed after this time. All projects
must be removed by 3:00 p.m. on April 1. Projects left at Heald
Conference Center after 3 p.m. will be destroyed. |
